Key Responsibilities

Job Summary 

In accordance with the policies, procedures, and standards of The Lind Hotels, under the supervision of the Group Director of Engineering, the Project Engineer will oversee the technical and operational aspects of the resort construction project. This is a Manila-based position requiring remote monitoring and coordination; however, the candidate must be willing to be assigned to the site for extended periods once required by management. The role focuses on ensuring civil works meet design standards, managing contractors, and providing fast resolutions to on-site issues to keep the project moving forward.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitors the construction project progress through digital tools and reports, while conducting physical site inspections during site visits or assignments.
  • Proactively identifies on-site issues and concerns; provides immediate support and technical solutions to ensure a fast resolution and prevent project delays.
  • Directly manages and coordinates with contractors and sub-contractors to ensure they deliver work according to the agreed-upon schedule and quality.
  • Creates and maintains well-organized project reports, including daily logs, weekly progress updates, and monthly executive summaries for the Group Director of Engineering.
  • Reviews technical drawings, blueprints, and material specifications to ensure thorough accuracy and the right technical fit for the resort’s environment.
  • Monitors project milestones and identify potential bottlenecks early, providing data-driven solutions to keep the hotel construction project on track.
  • Assists in monitoring construction expenses and tracks the inventory of materials delivered to the site to prevent waste and loss.
  • Acts as the primary point of contact between the on-site construction team and the corporate Engineering office in Manila.
  • Ensures that the essential structural and design features of the building align with The Lind’s high standards and reputation as a top place to work.
  • Enforces strict adherence to occupational health and safety standards on-site and ensures all permits and local government requirements are met.
  • Performs any other duties and tasks that may be assigned by immediate superiors from time to time.

Required Qualifications

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Graduate of Civil Engineering degree with professional license (PRC) is highly preferred;
  • Strong proficiency in project management software and Mircosoft Office. 
  • Excellent technical writing skills for generating clear project updates;
  • Strong problem-soliving skills with a focus on fast resolution of construction concerns; 
  • Must be willing to be based on-site as the project requires.

Experience

  • Must have experience in hotel or luxury resort construction projects; 
  • Proven track record in managing and coordinating with multiple contractors and subcontractors. 
  • Required experience in civil works, site development and structural oversight;
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a Project Engineer or similar construction management role.
